This year promises to be one of the massive changes, massive transformations, and a major evolutionary leap in human history and consciousness. We are already feeling its intensity, perhaps with some trepidation. We are being shaken to our roots. And so we must claim our place as seed~bearers of a new future. We bring the power and magic of our stars, from which we come, to the restoration, the re-storying of the anima mundi.
In my dreams this week the Black Madonna has returned to the magnificent mansion which long ago belonged to her royal family. Surrounded by acres of green, a pond, a forest, she lives elegantly, safely, in its yellow walls. In 1982, another Black Madonna dream showed this: At the top of a hill in rural America, the white wooden schoolhouse which is also a church collapses in splintered timber burying the bearded old white man/teacher/reverend at its center. Out of the wreckage, miraculously, strides a tall, strong black woman holding a baby girl in her arms. The mother’s head is wrapped in red satin, the same material her baby is swaddled in.
In the ways and wisdom of dreams, in the landscape and language of astrology I am now discovering, these archetypal figures correspond to the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn now drawing near, and the one in 1982. This year, with the addition of enthusiastic Jupiter, and many other aspects in Uranus (Great Awakener) Eris (named for the Goddess of Chaos and Discord) we are truly in for a revolution. I know we wild women Wayfinders will make, are making, a difference. We can help to dream, write, embody, love a new future into being.
Driving back from my office, I notice the truck in front of me: INNOVATION CONSTRUCTION. This is my favorite phrase for 2020. We are already feeling and seeing the massive upheaval in institutions of government, economics, politics, social systems. And the structures that are being dismantled and dissolved are also the structures within of false beliefs and ancestral woundings. We are called to become our own leaders, to trust our inner authority, and to offer our power, beauty, and wisdom as our legacy to the next seven generations. Joining together is the best way to bring our visions and values into our families, communities, and world with joy. With love. A deep restructuring is happening not only out there, but within. At the core of your being, a new you is about to come out of hiding. Find a pod. Follow the deep intelligence of nature in her whales and elephants, her ants and bees and trees. This is our time to lead and to build our legacy.
Winter Solstice tomorrow will be the longest night in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the still point before the sun turns and the light begins to return. This night was called “Mother Night” as it was during this time that the Goddess worked her magic to nurture the seeds lying dormant in the dark womb of the earth so that new life could emerge. Let us remember and honor the Ancient’s belief in the Reindeer Goddess, the Sun Goddess, and the Mother’s Night when she both flies high into the sky and dives deep into the earth to nourish and promise a renewal of life in the coming spring.

Although it may be dark now, the light will return. At the Galactic Center, the vast black hole in the middle of the Milky Way, we see into holy darkness. The womb of creation. The place where stars are born. And new stories are birthed.
You have already said Yes to your soul assignment. You chose to come to Earth at this turbulent time because you are needed to midwife the emerging new story. You are already a star. Because this is where you came from.
Long before Santa charioted his flying reindeer across our mythical skies, it was the Goddess who brought the gifts of light and regeneration. Reindeer are the only members of the deer family whose females have horns and are stronger and larger than the males. The males shed their antlers in winter, leaving it to the Deer Mother to fly through the long, dark night of Winter Solstice. The Reindeer was a sacred animal to our ancient ancestors of Northern Europe. The doe was seen as the giver of light and life. Their horns were associated with the tree of life and often times they were depicted carrying the sun, the giver of life, in their horns.
You, darkness, that I come from
I love you more than all the fires
that fence in the world,
for the fire makes a circle of light for everyone
and then no one outside learns of you.
But the darkness pulls in everything-
shapes and fires, animals and myself,
how easily it gathers them! –
powers and people-
and it is possible a great presence is moving near me.
I have faith in nights.
– Rainer Maria Rilke
There is so much potential to build something beautiful, powerful, magical this year. What do you want to see more of? What do you want to be remembered for? Honor your obligations and keep your promises.
This is a wake-up call. Make a vow to do something you know in your heart you love, that your soul came here to do, and you will do the impossible.
There is a rising tide of emergent energies to help you come out fully present, creative as the star you are, and to build a new foundation from the lessons and initiatory trials you have completed. Whatever you build in 2020 will last. This will be your foundation for years to come so be intentional.
The Feminine is essential to building a new vision
and value for our dear planet Earth.
– Marion Woodman
What do you most want to be remembered for?
We own our inner authority, create with integrity, and feel the magic that the freedom to create brings. Trust your inner authority. Fly with the wild ideas that come to you now. If it does not inspire you or resonate with your wild soul knowing, it is not worth doing. Trust the greatest resource you have: connection to inspiration, joy, and love. Strip away what is not yours to carry. And tune inwards.

Go inside a stone
That would be my way.
Let somebody else become a dove
Or gnash with a tiger’s tooth.
I am happy to be a stone.
From the outside the stone is a riddle:
No one knows how to answer it.
Yet within, it must be cool and quiet
Even though a cow steps on it full weight,
Even though a child throws it in a river;
The stone sinks, slow, unperturbed
To the river bottom
Where the fishes come to knock on it
I have seen sparks fly out
When two stones are rubbed,
So perhaps it is not dark inside after all;
Perhaps there is a moon shining
From somewhere, as though behind a hill—
Just enough light to make out
The strange writings, the star-charts
On the inner walls.
This is a year to focus on legacy and leadership.
This is a Threshold time requiring greater courage, skill, and strength. Know your power as a creator, be fully present in your inner authority, and bring your magic into the world. Prioritize your resources: Time. Money. Energy. Go within and find quiet stillness to define, refine, decide to firmly establish the foundations for a new story.
Choose now. What best supports your vision, dreams, hopes for a better future. The pressures we are experiencing are forcing us to focus and to implement. The Capricorn (Council of Grandmothers) gives a rare opportunity to revitalize the very root of our world tree by lending perseverance, stamina, determination, and some capriciousness to lighten the responsibilities in claiming our power and leadership.
Awaken your inner rebel and unleash your wild genius. We, women, are wilds cards, shattering the status quo. Commit with fierce focus to your freedom as you dream, write, live this new wild soul story.
We are here to make history, and to bring love. We are here to create something that has never been seen before, but we have the privilege and opportunity to do so. It is going to take joining together, like the most brilliant living beings in Nature – whales and dolphins in pods, flamingoes in a flamboyance, ants and bees and trees.
Liberate your imagination to envision solutions. Be an Innovator. A Wayfinder. Keep dreaming bigger dreams. It is a time to get to work in a very practical way, while holding to the long-term vision, the Adventure, of our dharma. Our soul assignment. Use the power of your knowledge and experience to build something beautiful. Wild Feminine wisdom is rising, and it is an exciting time to be alive as well (as an extremely hair-raising one.)
